I hope you are having a fabulous first weekend of Fall (That is a lot of Fs!)! I have been cooking up a storm and plowing through all of the ingredients in my refrigerator, including the requisite gallon of cider I purchased at a nearby orchard, and some remaining ginger beer I had from an article I wrote for Foodable Network. I did what I usually do with liquid leftovers and combined them into this Apple Cider Ginger Beer Cocktail. The “recipe” here is more of an outline than anything else with 1 part vodka, to 3 parts apple cider, to 2 parts ginger beer. Feel free to go as big as you like with those proportions and add any garnishes you fancy while you are at it! This libation is crisp and refreshing with a spicy, gingery, kick to boot!
- 1-ounce vodka
- 3-ounces apple cider
- Roughly 2-ounces ginger beer
- (Optional) Cinnamon stick, fresh lime, sprig of thyme or sage for garnish
- Place your ice in a short glass. Add the vodka and apple cider, and stir. Top with ginger beer. Garnish as you like, with a cinnamon stick for spiciness, lime for brightness, or thyme/sage for something more herbal; everything works!
