Cosmos: A Love Story

One of the things that I think most people struggle with when they approach gardening is the urge to grow EVERYTHING. Or nothing; in that they have no idea where to begin. My advice is to start small. There is immense joy in plucking a single something that you planted.

I would also recommend choosing flowers that are known to be easy-to-grow and prolific. Enter: Cosmos.

Cosmos are simple to seed with very basic light and water requirements. One single plant can produce dozens (if not hundreds) of buds throughout the season. And, there are so many beautiful, colorful varieties of Cosmos to choose from. What’s not to love?

The photo above is of a Picotee, which is known for its distinctive hot pink/magenta edges.

Apricotta, Cupcake White, Lemonade, and Seashells Mix, are a few more of my personal favorite varieties. Please let me know in the comments if you have any to add to this list!
