This is your sign to make Ina Garten’s Lobster Mac and Cheese this summer! It is truly the most decadent – but somehow summer-perfect – recipe to entertain with.
Long before it was cool to do so, I loved Ina Garten, aka the Barefoot Contessa. That sounds very “pick me”, but it’s true nonetheless! Fun fact: in what feels like a former life (It practically was; I was all of 24 years-old!), I worked in magazine publishing in New York City. The Advertising Director (who was also an Ina fan) and I used to trade out our Ina cookbooks, and take turns working our way through the recipes on the weekends. We spent just as much time in her office talking about our most-loved creations (Chicken Stew with Biscuits, for me; Beef Bourguignon, for her) as we did advertising quotas.
While I primarily focus on clean, healthy, eating – my taste preferences actually lean to savory, rich, salty dishes like the aforementioned chicken stew, and the mac and cheese you see here. I made this then, as a treat for company after receiving a pound of Maine Lobster Meat, as a promotion in an order I placed with Sizzlefish. Before I go any further, this is not a sponsored post! I first discovered Sizzlefish a couple of years ago, after returning from Naples and wanting to source Cedar Key Clams; one of my favorite foods to eat when I am in Florida. Since that time, I have also ordered the Wild Gulf Shrimp (another FL favorite), and the Wild Alaska Halibut. I wanted to share this resource here for anyone who is like me – landlocked – but enjoys cooking with and eating high-quality seafood.
Annnd…in case you are wondering, I did in fact arrange that claw meat for this photo. It was too beautiful not to!
